WELCOME TO GLENDALE HUMANE

Please enjoy this slide show of our beloved animals.

We are a non-profit, donor-supported humane rescue organization. Since 1924, Glendale Humane has provided shelter for unwanted dogs and cats. Glendale Humane is a No-Kill facility. We care for our animals until they are placed in loving, permanent homes.

MEET CHICO-OUR FEATURED PET

Chico

Chico is a Boston Beauty. We love this little guy - he makes us laugh and is always ready for a fun experience. It is always amazing to us - the resilience in these wonderful pups. Chico was an ignored puppy. He was left in a backyard with a bowl of food and very little human contact. In spite of this neglect, Chico came to us willing to give humans another try. We sent him home with a mom and teenage daughter where he was given love, walks and a new lease on life. Unfortunately, his mom lost her home and could not take him with her. GH took him back in to our shelter and once again we are looking for a home for this character. Chico is active, loving, funny and still willing to give a two-legged companion a try.
We are looking for a home for him where the household likes to have a good time, is active and most of all, understands the importance of commitment. We want to make sure the third time is the charm for Chico!

DrawtheDog

MAKE YOUR DOG FAMOUS…OR INFAMOUS!

Draw the Dog is a cute and clever website that captures the unique, comical and down right silly antics of dogs. Draw the Dog is drawn by Jim George who lives near the beach in Venice and spent years animating. (He’s created characters for film and TV, been a director, book author and also has a counseling practice). Jim really likes animals and people, too and would almost certainly run out of good ideas, so the whole idea of the website is that most cartoons are inspired by real life dogs and their real life antics.
Since the vast majority of dogs have trouble typing, Draw the Dog depends on dog owners to write descriptions of their canine companions and their exploits. If inspired by your story, Jim will write inspired by (your dog’s name) in (your town and state) next to the resulting cartoon. They post a new cartoon every day except Sunday.
Click here to visit Draw the Dog. View these comical and clever cartoons and learn how you can make your canine companion famous, or in some cases, infamous!

GLENDALE HUMANE IS PROUD TO FEED
MERRICK PET FOOD

Glendale Humane proudly feeds our pets Merrick gourmet pet food, made in the US by the Merrick family for the last two decades. The secret to Merrick’s products is the simplistic approach they take in making them. They are a simple processor, meaning they use the least amount of steps during manufacturing to retain as much of the natural benefits as possible. They use human grade ingredients along with fresh fruits, vegetables and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Merrick’s mission statement is “Comfort for the Soul,” and they provide that by offering simple, nutritious and healthy products and committing themselves to the proverb “A good man is concerned for the welfare of his animals.” Click here to visit the Merrick Pet Care website and learn more about Merrick pet foods and treats.
