Featured Dog of the Week

Paris

Paris is the dog of our hearts. She is lovable, smart, well behaved and just down right adorable. Paris has her own career on stage. So far she has starred at the Alex Theatre in the play, “Annie”. She played Annie’s orphan dog, Sandy, and was a huge hit. This amazing pooch is a cancer survivor - clear now for two years. Paris lives in our office at GHS and charms everyone that stops by. She knows basic manners, walks beautifully on the leash and is housebroken. We would love to find Paris a foster home or a home of her very own. She is not interested in being with other dogs and is not a candidate for kitties but enjoys all people young and old. Though we find her irresistible Paris deserves a family to call her own. Please consider Paris if you have room in your heart. She is easy to care for - just add love. Please come meet Paris.»

    SUMMER SAFETY TIPS FOR PETS

Protect Your Pets From Summer Heat!

Overheating can be deadly for your pet! Never leave your animal in a parked vehicle. Even on a relatively cool day with the windows open, a car can quickly become a furnace. Exercise your pet in the cool of the early morning or evening - hot asphalt or pavement can burn their paws. Extra precautions should be taken with senior dogs, short-nosed dogs, over-weight dogs, and thick-coated dogs, as they can quickly succumb to heat-stress. Provide your pet with plenty of fresh drinking water and shade while they’re outdoors.

Here are some tips to keep them safe during hot weather. »

If you are a “cat only” person, you attend just the first Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You must sign up for the class in order to attend, so please leave your name and telephone number on our answering machine beginning in January, 2009. We will NOT be taking any sign-ups until January 1, 2009. There is limited space. If you love animals and want to make a difference, please come volunteer. More Information »
