BELLAH (aka ZORA)

BELLAH (aka ZORA)

Its been about 6 weeks since Bellah joined our family and it seems like she was always a part of us. From the first hour in our home she acclimated easily, however, she is wary of the stairs. Bellah sleeps in her crate and she enjoys long walks with everyone in the family. The first thing she did when she got home was jump in the pool, which is great as we love to swim with our dog and we were hoping she would like water. Bellah is super smart and I get the feeling she would save our lives if the opportunity arose. We planned our spring break to take her with us to the beach and she is enjoying the water and surf for the first time. We are so pleased with our beautiful girl we are thinking of adopting a sister or brother for her.

BUTTERS & LULU

BUTTERS & LULU

Dear Star and Everyone at GHS,
We just wanted to email you an update on our two fur babies that we adopted from GHS in 2005 and 2006… First of all some sad news… Lulu (aka Jackie), whom we adopted in Dec 2006, was diagnosed with a fatal condition called FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) last month. The vet says she was probably born with the virus, and kittens are the most likely to have no resistance to this virus. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for this disease. She was starting to become very sick, and the vet advised euthanasia asap. We had Lulu euthanized in the comfort of our home by a lovely vet called Madeline Graham. Lulu went quickly and peacefully, and in the company of her mommy and daddy and big brother Butters. She had a short, but very sweet life with us all. Lulu completely bonded to Butters, and would follow him around, sleep nearby him, and pounce on his tail when she wanted to play. Although we had her for a short time, she brought incredible joy and laughter into our lives. We will always love her and miss her very much. Butters (aka Topper) was our first adoption from GHS in Dec 2005. He is doing incredibly well, and is very healthy. He is a smart, playful, and loving boy. He loves to sleep on our bed next to mommy every night, and wakes mommy up with kisses and pets mommy’s face with his paws until mommy gets up to feed him! He loves to chase bugs (he’s very good at it) and watch the birds flying around outside. Butters loves to play with his toys, as long as mommy or daddy is playing with him, and is especially fond of his new kitty tower. He is such a great cat, and we love him very much! Anyway, I’ve enclosed a photo of Lulu and Butters snuggled up. Hopefully, we’ll be able to adopt again from GHS, and then we can send you more photos. The vet says we can adopt another friend for Butters, but he advises an adult cat would be better. Hope you are all doing well at GHS, and thanks so much for everything you do.
Best wishes,
Jill Dickson & John Jennings

BABALOO

Hello-
Thank you so much for all of your help in finding and adopting our newest family member Babaloo! He is an amazing dog, doing well, and he really couldn’t be an more behaved or fun to be around. Your description and help at the shelter were spot on, and we feel confident in our care for him thanks to your puppy parenting class. Babaloo is proof of all of your hard work and commitment to the animals at your shelter.
Here are a couple of photos of Babaloo for you guys to share, and thanks again.
Have a great day.

MILES DAVIS

MILES DAVIS

Hey guys,
I just wanted to send along an update. Nash, as he was named temporarily by GHS, is now called Miles Davis. His name was inspired by his voice, which sounds like the great jazz player’s instrument. Pics attached! We’re very happy! Thank you!
