TRINI Hello Everyone -
Here is a recent picture of Trini (right) and his new sister Niki in the kitchen. After a bit of a rocky start we are all settling in nicely. He’s such a sweet, goofy boy with lots of energy and big sloppy kisses to give. His appetite has really picked up this last week and he’s put on a couple of pounds since I brought him home. Trini has more than a little alpha and he and Niki are still working out who the “big” dog is, but they are, for the most part, great pals. Murphy, my 8 year-old cat, was very happy to give up his honorary pack membership to Trini and is back to being the king of all he surveys. We are enjoying our walks every morning and are getting ready to start obedience training this week. I can’t thank Marsha enough for introducing Trini to Niki and I and for suggesting the Gentle Leader collar… what a difference! Thank you all for the great work you do. I’ll send a few more pictures down the road and keep you posted on Trini’s progress. Thanks again!

KODA Hi all,
I just wanted to send you a little note to let you know that we absolutely LOVE Neptune. We have had him for one week now and have actually renamed him “Koda” which is an Indian word that means “friend” and that is exactly what he is! He has adapted to his new name and surroundings faster and better than we could have ever expected. He loves all of the attention he is getting, sleeping with Shane (on his bed) and chasing squirrels and rabbits in our back yard. Our 13 1/2 year old Tibetan Mastiff seems to be doing pretty good with him also and even seems to have livened up a little with him around. Neptune/Koda also seems to know just how much he can play with or sniff her and then gives her a break. We wanted to thank you very much for all of your help and for having the insight to know that Neptune/Koda was a real find. We are so happy to have him! We will keep you posted and send you a picture soon.

SUNNY BOY Dear GHS:
Here is a recent picture of Sunny Boy, whom I adopted in January of this year. As you can see, he has made himself quite the King of the Castle. His personality is just finally starting to show, as he was very frightened and timid when I adopted him. I love him more and more each day, and could not be happier with his choice (he chose me). He has become one big lap cat, who happens to own a very loyal and obedient human!

PIA Hi All,
We just wanted to thank you for the great work you do and for helping us adopted Sammy (now named Pia). We’ve had her for over two months now and she’s still as sweet, gentle, and playful as the day we adopted her. She adjusted to her new home pretty quickly and has proven to be a great jogging partner. We are currently enrolled is obedience classes for her and is learning new things every week.
Thank you all for everything and keep up the great work.

GROOVY Hi GHS,
I just received a follow-up message from Ramona and thought I’d send you a recent picture of Groovy (formerly Minerva) and let you know that she’s doing great!
We have been in Paul Owens’ group obedience training class over the past 5 weeks and learning a lot. Groovy knows sit, down, stay, come and is learning to heel on our twice daily walks. We are also looking into continuing with Paul on a one-on-one basis.
She knows all the dogs in the neighborhood and is basically a social butterfly (loves all people and all dogs). Groovy goes to a doggy day care (only up to 6 dogs total) twice a week and loves it. Great for her socialization. She’s been to a vet and received an excellent bill of health.
Groovy is a happy sweet rambunctious little girl and I am thrilled to have her…I love her so much!
Thanks for keeping in touch. We will too.

BLUE Hello,
We adopted Legend (now Blue) and we just love him! He is doing very well and has even put on a couple of pounds. He is a very fun companion and loves to chase and play. He is not a very good walker and we would like an obedience class referral. We live in Huntington Beach. He has been great with people but likes to bark at other dogs, but when he has been close to dogs he does great - maybe he barks because he is excited. Anyway, thanks for the thoroughness of the adoption and the follow up. We love Blue!
