PENNY (aka RAMONA)

PENNY (aka RAMONA)

Dear GHS,
Penny is just a sweetheart and we love her more than you can ever imagine. She is soooo part of the family now and we could never imagine life without her. Oscar the Shih tzu and Penny play non-stop. Did I mention he is in love with her? But I think it’s pretty mutual! Not to mention from all of the playing he is getting so fit and handsome.

Best Wishes, Margaret Heymann

MOUSE (aka AURORA)

MOUSE (aka AURORA)

Dear Marsha, Alyce and all the team,
Here are a few pictures of our newest family member. We named her “Mouse” and as you can see she is settling in very well. Mouse (left) and Muddy have become fast friends and are already inseparable. We are putting together pieces of her puzzle slowly; Mouse has a fear of ceiling fans(?) and most importantly, long straight objects (brooms, mops etc.), which makes us sad. She is getting more confident every day, Muddy is proving to be a good influence, she looks to him as soon as she sees another dog, or hears a bark to get his take on things. With his amazingly laid-back attitude to anything other than a ball (hard to believe he is a Lab pup), he is proving to be good role model. We are hoping she has the same effect on him when it comes to house breaking! She is an angel and we are so grateful to have her in our lives.
Thank you and we will keep in touch!

Warm regards, Kim and John Lawrence.

JESPER

JESPER

It has been almost two months since we adopted Jesper (Sawyer). He has made himself at home. He follows me everywhere and usually just plops on the floor for belly rubs. He is an attention hog and uses his nose to (forcefully) nudge your hand if you stop petting him. He has kept the weight off but he just goes nuts for food. He spins in circles down the hall when he is being fed. He sleeps next to my side of the bed and he gives me kisses on the legs every night as I get into bed.

LATTE

LATTE

Hi Marsha and Alyce,
Just want to let you all know that Latte is doing quite well. She has a sister and a brother to play with. Mostly she plays with La fawn duh, her sister. They wrestle all day long and have such fun! She is such a wonderful addition to our family and we love her dearly. She got housebroken quickly and knows how to sit. We will be taking her to a training school pretty soon. Anyways, we just want to let you know that all is well and Latte can’t be any happier in her new home!
Thanks for all the great work you all do!
Chris and Don

SOPHIE

SOPHIE

Sophie (aka Snickers) is doing great! She just had her bath today, so is clean as well.
She enjoys the dog park ( A LOT ).. staying home with me during the days I work from home, and going on 3-4 walks a day. She is 56 pounds and shouldn’t get much bigger than she is now. She can respond to all sorts of commands, like hugging in her own way. She has her own couch, but is allowed to sit with us on one of the nice couches (she knows which ones she can, and can not sit on.). Very smart - doesn’t even go into the trash cans (they don’t have any lids). Does not bark at all, unless wrestling with her a little. Has a lot of toys, and she loves to bring every single one of them over to guests in the house when they visit.
Thanks, Mike

CAINE

CAINE

Hi everyone,
Caine (aka Raja) has been with us for a month now. He’s as delightful as ever and continues to become more comfortable in his new home. When he first arrived he was a very quiet, well-behaved boy. It took him three days before he even barked, allowed me to give him a bath and clean out his ears. Sat quietly at the vet’s office while two crazy dachshunds screamed bloody murder. Now he barks to let us know when someone is coming or when a critter passes by the window but only. When he first arrived he didn’t seem interested in the various doggie beds we had arrayed about the house (thinking perhaps that they were furniture and he shouldn’t get on them). Having spent some time encouraging him, he now takes full advantage of them and seems quite content snuggling up nearby us, but he still has no inclination to jump up on the couch for a cuddle. He made use of his first people furniture just yesterday… an outdoor bed lounge by a pool at a friends’ house. He looked like quite the lord of the manner relaxing under the gauzy canopy…
We started training classes with Bobby Lynn Riley. Mostly I think to train me as Caine doesn’t really seem to be in need of lessons. He’s excited for the treats though, and performs like a model citizen. When he first came, he was a bit lacking in energy, but after several long walks a day for a month… he’s now eager for his walks and quite bouncy.
He’s still fond of carrying around his plush toys and presenting them to visitors. When he can’t find a plush toy he will make do with a shoe or a pair of socks. He doesn’t chew them, though sometimes he stacks them up with his toys in the yard.
And now we are off for a bit of a walk.
We adore our sweet pup!
~ Barrie
