CINDER

CINDER

Korrin and I love our new family members. We re-named them both now. Flower is now called Cinder, and the little white one named Lilly is now called Sapphire. We love them so much! Thank you for all you did to bring us together with them this Christmas.

ACE

ACE

Hi Marsha, Alyce and the rest of the GHS gang -
I just wanted to give you a quick update on our Ace. He is WONDERFUL! We have recently moved into a larger townhome and he is enjoying having his own new room (filled with every kind of squeaky toy imaginable). He is the biggest lover ever and has LOVED getting lots of extra cuddles and treats from both sets of grandparents and all of his aunts and uncles. He has brought us so much joy and we are very grateful to have him in our family. He is still learning how to play well with others - but we feel sure that with some additional training and socialization he will learn to love his canine friends, too. I have attached a few recent photos that I thought you might enjoy. Thank you, again, for rescuing this sweet boy and allowing him to bless our home!
All our best,
Dana and Brian

BROWNIE & TWINKIE

BROWNIE & TWINKIE

We got Brownie from the GHS in March of 2003. He was only 7 months old, we had no idea he would grow to be 105 pounds! He is so handsome and well mannered, he loves other dogs, kids, and parties! He causes quite the stir when we are out with him, people stop and stare and want to touch him, he loves the attention, and kisses everyone. He is truly an amazing creature!

We got Twinkie 8 months after we got Brownie, because 2 is better than 1! At first she was quite the rascal, but with a lot of training and love she is an unbelievably affectionate dog who loves her life with us, and she worships Brownie. They sleep together like Yin and Yang, and wrestle and chase each other in the garden. They are such a fun duo, they make us smile and laugh all day long!

RUBY JEWEL

RUBY JEWEL

The Sun shines on Ruby Jewel!

It’s been a year now since I first brought Ruby (left) home, and I wanted to share this special anniversary with you. Last Nov. 2004, I came to the shelter to find a companion dog for Jed Henry, who I apopted from the GHS 5 years ago. My decision was going to be based on finding the best companion for Jed and compatibility in the environment that had already been established. Ruby was the one, she was now going to be Jed’s new little sister.

Ruby was still just a baby, abandoned near the freeway and found by the LA City Animal Control. Spending a couple of months there, she was then rescued by the GHS. In spite of the harshness endured she had remained still full of life and enthusiasm. This is such a testament to the unconditional love she had to offer. I remember that first morning when I went to check on her, she had this big smile on her face and I said… “Ruby you are a happy little dog”.
Ruby has had a busy year, she has gone camping in Ojai, twice; visted the Grand Canyon; learned to swim; discovered snow; and has traveled over 3,000 miles on a road trip cross-country.

But most of all, Ruby has learned to trust. She now feels safe and secure enough to close her eyes and feel the sunshine on her face.

Thank you to everyone at GHS for this little jewel called Ruby.

STAR

STAR

Dear Glendale Humane Society,
Hi! My name is Star. You might know me as Domino or even Charley, but my new family says I’m the Star, so that’s my name.
My girl and I run everyday in our courtyard. She tries to catch up with me, but I’m way too fast. Sometimes, I like to tease her and I run really fast right by her.
I have also taught them how to play fetch. I can play for hours, but sometimes they say they get tired just watching me.
I have a doggie friend and some kitty friends. My doggie friend, Pearl, seems to be the only one able to keep up with me. My best kitty friends, Leo and Puma, are always happy to greet me. Leo evens comes out to my car now to say hi!
I love my new life and I owe it all to you.
Love, Star
