FIONA

FIONA

Hello, This was Fiona who I adopted a little less than one year ago. ~ Salpy Kassabian

PHOENIX

PHOENIX

She has warmed up to us very quickly and has been very loving so far and even a little playful but is so easily distracted by any little noise or movement right now that it’s hard for her to focus on anything for more than a few seconds. She has a couple new concepts in her world now: windows and mirrors. The latter, she’s pretty unsure about but that’s to be expected and the former… she saw our other cat on the other side and tried to run over to her which resulted in a lot of sneezing and a nose that was probably smarting for a few minutes, but it was kinda funny. She’s doing great and we haven’t been able to do much except spend time with her since we got her home. We just wanted to say thanks again and let you know how she’s doing…

JETT

JETT

Dear Everybody,
Here is a picture of me, Jett and my mom. He seems to be doing very well. He has not had any accidents and gets along nicely with our Shepherd and Schnauzer. He follows me around the house and knows he is *my* dog. On the way back from the airport (1+ hours) he was great. He must have had some previous car experience. In fact, he has really been a perfect gentleman in the house too. ~ Dane Berry
Update: Dear GHS, Thanks for everything you did for me in this recent adoption. I really appreciate it. Jett is doing great, he acts like he’s lived here his whole life. I wouldn’t have picked any other dog, if given the chance again. He gets along great with the kids and other dogs. He already has little spots where he chews his toys. Thanks again, Dane

BRYCE

BRYCE

Hi! Bryce here! You might remember me as Pasha. Pasha means “king” in Persian. I changed my name for my new family as they are not royals and I did not want to intimidate them.
I am just emailing to say thanks to the wonderful person who convinced my previous owner to turn me in! I never knew how much fun I was missing.
You took me in around December 14th and the next day brought me to Andersen’s Pet Shop to the GRCGLA where I found my new family. I was very nervous, my new Mom could barely control my leash, and I thought, this is the lady who’s going to take care of me?
Well, she took me to get a microchip, then to our new home. I was very nervous! She showed me around the house, and I was jumping on countertops and stealing food and chewing and being well just a little crazy! They have a nice yard, but at first I didn’t want to go out there. I think I was afraid I was going to be left outside. But they leave the back door open! It’s so cool! I get to go in or out! In or out! In and out! Out or in! Even if they close the door all I have to do is go to it and they open it for me! Cool! I do this about one hundred times a day. Just for fun.
Also, I get to sleep in the bedroom, in my own little nook. I love it. At first my new Pa (I call him Paw) was a little unsure about me. He thought I was out of control. So maw took me to obedience school right away. Oh boy did I have a lot to learn! I didn’t know anything! Now I know lots. Sit, down, stay (well kind of), come, and how to walk on a leash!
When Paw saw how well I learned, he bought me a bed to let Maw know I could stay. So I ate it! I ate the next one too! And every single blanket, flannel sheet, towel they give me to lie down on.
Maw and Paw bring me everywhere. They say it’s not too late for me to be socialized. Whatever that means.
When Maw and Paw go away, I get to go to Gran-Paw and Gran-Maw’s house! I love that. Treats treats and more treats. They are the best. They have a nice yard with a barrel of lily pads. I like to stick my whole head and front paws in the lily pond. I think I am a water dog. I’ll find out when Maw and Paw take me on vacation to the beach. We are staying one whole week at a dog friendly house on a dog friendly beach. Maw says it’s going to be doggy heaven.
Thanks again for helping me find my new home.
Bryce
p.s. here is a picture of me in one of my favorite spots - hanging out on the back porch with a bone.

AKIO

AKIO

Here is the picture you requested of Akio, aka: Sly. He is enjoying Varquez’s Rocks. He is a great joy to have. Thanks for all your help. Take Care,

KUMA

KUMA

Dear GHS and Alyce,
Kuma (aka Aidan) has reminded us about what it’s like to have a puppy, again! It’s funny how quickly you forget all the trials and tribulations. He’s Mr. Motor Mouth, chews on everything - he has ruined rugs, remote controls, cell phones, you name it, he’s probably eaten it. With all that in mind, my husband and I love this beautiful puppy. Our other dog, Radar loves him too! He’s 8 months old and growing by leaps and bounds. We are so grateful to have him in our lives. It’s so cool to have two dogs that love each other and play together all the time. We can’t imagine life without our little Kuma! (kuma is japanese for bear)
Thank You again, Shannon and Michael Landon
