BUDDAH Hi Marsha and Alyce and all of you at the Glendale Humane Society!
I thought I would write and say hello to all of you great people at the
Humane Society. I have been with Brian (dad) and Jane (mom) and my big dog
sister Tipper for six weeks now. I miss all of your smiling faces and all
the love you gave me… but I sure do like my new home here!
Mom and dad say that I am “all love, all the time.” I get lots of belly
rubs and plenty of walks and ball-throwing exercise during the day and
every Sunday we visit Paul Owens so I can get raised with praise. I don’t
really know what that means, but I like the treats and I can sit, go down, stay,
come, and I’m even beginning to find my bed! I am housetrained and chew
on my toys and nylabones when I need to work out some energy. My big fashion news is that when I went to get groomed, the nice lady and mom decided that I was so matted that I should get clipped pretty short,
to start my new coat off on the right foot. When it was first done, I looked like someone had slipped a tight turtleneck over my body, but now my hair
is growing out and soon I will be back to my longer coat in all its glory.
Mom promises to send a picture in a few months when my coat is back full force.
Dad and mom are sure thankful that you folks took me in and kept me alive and loved until they found me. There isn’t a day that goes by when I
don’t hear them say to one another, “Aren’t you so happy that he is in our
family now?” I feel the same way. I think even Tipper is happy to have a
sibling, although she probably wouldn’t admit it!!
So, that is it for now. I hope you like the pictures.
My love to all of you. Again, mom and dad sure do send you all more gratitude than they could ever express.
Have a great puppy day!

UPDATE - April 2006:
Hi Marsha and Alyce and all of you at the Glendale Humane Society!
It has been just over a year since I was adopted by Dad and Mom (Brian and Jane) from all of you at the GHS. What a wonderful year I have had becoming part of my new family. My doggie sister Tipper and I play each day and share all of our toys. Mom and Dad just adore me and seem pretty enchanted by my sweet personality, boisterous nature and good behavior each and every day. I get lots of love, and even at my low height, am encouraged to jump into bed with Mom and Dad a few times a week. For a low rider, I am pretty agile!
Anyway, life is good and I am still thankful for the love and caring you gave me when I was with you. Mom and Dad still say they feel like they are the luckiest parents in the world, to have found me and to get to be my parents.
Much love,
Buddha
CLANCY Hi guys! It’s me, Clancy. I just wanted to tell you how I’m doing in my new home. I am growing so fast, and I’m so very handsome. See how I look now? Remember when I left there I was just this little ball of fluff? I weigh almost 30 pounds now and this makes mom and dad gulp.
Mom and Dad say I’m the smartest dog they’ve ever had, even though they have had smart ones before. I learned to pee and poo in this certain place in the yard within the first week and I haven’t had any mishaps in the house for weeks. Also, dad taught me to sit and shake paws and lie down and crawl. He is fun because he’s around the house all day with me and I love him very much.
Mom plays catch and taught me to fetch my toy so we can play catch and stuff. She buys me so many toys and treats and blankets and beds and stuff. I’m very spoiled. I also got a lot of toys for Christmas. She loves me very much and I love her too. She has to leave during the week to do her job and I watch her through the fence as she goes and wish she could stay with dad and me.
Well, bye Alyce and everyone who was so kind to me before and gave me love. Mom and dad say your teaching me to sleep in a pen is a lifesaver. It’s ok, but I’d rather sleep with them on the bed. I’ll see ya sometime.
Love,
Clancy (aka Truman)
ASIA Just wanted to say thank you for the new member of our family. Asia has
been renamed “Bird” since she is so tiny. What a wonderful little girl. So
well socialized, nothing phases her. I was gonna wait a couple of days
until I started introducing dogs, but she was so relaxed I brought on the
first dog. She was VERY curious, not frightened and I know she will get
along just fine in our household!

PETE Dear Alyce and Staff:
Attached is my beautiful Pete who I adopted almost a year ago from your shelter. I thought you would appreciate the update. He is just an angel and now so spoiled. I love it. Everyone loves him, and he is so beautiful and healthy. I cannot believe that someone didn’t want him.
I hope things are going well, and I wish you the very best for the holiday season and always.
Fondly,
Mary Jane Hocutt
CONNER Conner is doing so very well with all the members of our family (both two and four legged!) His favorite pastime is accompanying us daily out to the horse corral when we tend to the horses, where he (along with our other two dogs), runs and plays and barks at passers-by. While one of our dogs (Judge, a Golden Retriever) chases balls, Conner chases Judge and grabs him by his tail. Conner also eats out of the horse bins and steals their apples! The horses have learned to live with this. However, Connor took a few hard nudges and toe-stompings from them before he realized that he wasn’t just dealing with a few “large” dogs!
Conner is a very loving and funny little boy. He greets everyone, even strangers, by walking in between their legs and staying there. (See picture.) Many times I will have to walk down our entire hallway straddling the little guy all the way.
Conner is a Godsend in that he has helped Judge find his youth again (and helped him lose his “lovehandles”), and in the love and amusement he fills our home with.
Thank you for giving Conner a second chance at life. He certainly is enjoying himself now!!!!

DINAH Just wanted to let you know that Dinah (aka Skye) is doing great. Here are some photos, she’s putting on some weight and is turning into a playing dynamo.
Thanks so much for her,
