EDDIE

EDDIE

Hello,

I have been meaning to write and update you on our dog Teddy (formerlyEddie) whom we adopted in early December. He is doing so great and is justthe light of our lives. He had an issue with barking at other dogs and pulling toward them when hewas on a leash. We have worked with him a lot and he is 75% better! We canwalk by dogs that are across the street and he is fairly calm. We walk himover to most dogs going by and he is happy to meet them and then go on hisway. He has a great reputation in our neighborhood as a dog who has comealong way and is “such a good dog.“We wanted to thank you again and let you know how grateful we are that yourescued Teddy, which in turn allowed us to adopt him. Teddy, my husband, and I, could not be happier together.I’ve included some pictures of Teddy for your enjoyment. : )

MostSincerely, Sara Shea

FIGARO

FIGARO

Hi Everyone at GHS,

I adopted Humphrey (AKA Figaro) back in 2006. He spent 2 years at your shelter, and it took him a long time to come out of his shell. After spending time in the bathroom, he transitioned to the bedroom, and didn’t come out from under the bed for weeks, and it probably took a full year for him to really relax and feel comfortable roaming the house, but boy, as you can see in the picture, has he ever relaxed. He is a total lap cat who loves nothing more than to cuddle and purr like a buzz saw. He follows me from room to room and meets me at the door when I get home from work. Two years is a long time to live at a shelter, and I am so thankful for GHS, because if you hadn’t saved him I might have missed out on a great kitty. Thanks especially to everyone who takes care of the cat room. To anyone who is unsure of adopting an animal who has been at GHS for a long time, please reconsider. You will find a diamond in the rough like I did.

ITCH & STITCH

ITCH & STITCH

Hi Star!

The boys are doing great! Attached are two pictures. Munchkin (Stitch) is almost as big as Basil (Twitch) now, though he’s shorter and plumper, while Basil is longer and leaner. Like in their initial pre-adoption description, Munchkin is still a lovebug and Basil still has a foot fetish.

Despite their CHP, in the past year they’ve started jumping on counters and opening cabinets, just like normal cats. They’re also learned to run up and down stairs very well. They still wobble a tad when they walk, but that’s about the only sign that they have CHP at all! Truly, they’re the best cats ever. Thanks!!

TUCKER

TUCKER

This note is long overdue.

I am Tucker and I was adopted in December 2004.

I have should have written earlier but I was so busy taking 3 obedience courses and learning how to beg for treats. I quickly worked my way out of the crate onto a pillow on the floor in the bedroom. I never go into the kitchen or climb on furniture. The only thing I chew is my toys. I never jump on people.

Since I was adopted, I have learned to walk well on the leash, sit, down, roll over, paw, and go to bed. I will do them all in a row if you have a treat in your hand (I think that is most efficient).

Last year, my family and I left California and moved to Minnesota. I did not like the plane ride and I was terrified of the snow the first time I saw it. Now, I enjoy the wide open spaces. Since I have learned to come, I get to go off leash quite a bit. I never stray to far away from my owners and prefer to be and indoor dog.

I joined a dog obedience club and won awards for “Best tail wag” and “catching the most treats”. I am still working on the dog obedience awards.

I thank you for taking care of me at Glendale Humane Society and helping me find a home.

KATYDID

KATYDID

Hi Star,

We are absolutely loving Katy being a part of our family. It took some time to get her adjusted at first. She was a little aggressive and definately wanted to be the boss. But after a few months, she has really turned into such a sweetheart! She still has to be the boss, which works out perfectly because our other dog Sammy needs a boss. Our dog Lucy died this time last year and it just devastated Sam. He was such a different dog after that, and we could tell that he desperately needed a buddy, especially one that took charge. So, Katy was just a perfect match for us! She loves being out in the yard, and is obsessed with every other animal she comes in contact with. I think when we read her description at GHS, it said something about her being a clown and that is SO true!

Thank you so much to you and the staff there for giving us such a sweetheart! We’ll keep in touch!

LADDY

LADDY

Hello Everybody,

We have had LADDY for a few weeks now and we just wanted to give you a quick update.

PAZZO, which is his new name (it’s Italian for funny, silly), seems to be enjoying himself. He and our other dog BELLA became the best of friends, they play a lot together, sleep right next to each other and BELLA has been a great help with training him, as she sets a good example of what needs to be done. As you can see in one of the enclosed pictures, he has learned to sit quietly and listen to a prayer before he eats.

We go for long walks every day in a pack of 5, 6 or 7 depending on which friends we go with. Pazzo goes with us into the chicken coop and this morning he even kissed (it was more of a lick) one of our 1 day old chicks.

Life is goooooooood!!!!!

Thank you all for making our lives complete again.

Jim, Anna, Bella and Pazzo Ostovani
