It’s been five months since we adopted a beautiful dog from your caring organization (July 20, 2007). Her name was Raffia. We’ve renamed her Sienna. When we picked her, we were told she had become a favorite of many GHS volunteers; we now understand why. Sienna is a wonderful dog: gentle, kind, happy to finally be home, and great with kids! One of our friends brought his one year old girl over and Sienna just sat next to her. Little Kylie leaned in and gave Sienna a great big hug and the two just snuggled! The best part? They got it all on video. Sienna has adjusted beautifully and gets along superbly with our other dog, Sirius Black. The two of them have an understanding–inside the house, Sirius gets to be rambunctious, nagging bully. He constantly picks at her ears and scruff. But once outside the house, Sienna takes over. Her natural dominance and confidence shines as she easily rolls him and puts him in check! The two of them play aggressively, but heartily. They’ve become great friends and darn near inseparable. When Sirius misbehaves and we crate him, she’ll lie down next to his crate, look at us longingly and whimper ever-so-gently so that we may let him out. She’s definitely made Sirius happier; she has added much joy to our lives as well. And we would like to thank you guys deeply for the awesome, early Christmas present this year. Phil & Cindy BON GARCON![]() Hello, Here is a picture of Skipper (formerly Bon Garcon) whom we adopted in Sept.2007. More importantly, it is a picture of Skipper with our son, who wasvery nervous around him when we first brought the dog home. He had neverbeen around dogs much, and found it hard to even be in the same room withhim for long because of his doggy energy and rambunctiousness. But after afew weeks he went from an attitude of fear to letting Skipper sit in hislap! Skip is a sweet dog, full of zest, and both of our kids love to throwballs and toys for him to chase. He is fast as lightning. He has accepted usas members of his “pack,” and we have accepted him. So thank you again, The Waters family ROSEANNE![]() Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone at Glendale Humane Society! We recently received a message regarding a follow up on Rosy’s adoption, and we would love to share her updates with you. Rosy is getting A LOT OF ATTENTION from us and from all our friends and family. She is super well behaved at home and basically wherever we take her. She is truly an amazing companion and we are SO HAPPY to have her in our lives! Rosy is currently on medication because after her first visit to the vet they found Giardia in her fecal sample. She is now on Drontal Plus. Otherwise she is very healthy and happy as a clam! We have attached 3 photos of Rosy and hope you’ll enjoy her new look. She is such a pretty girl we can’t stop taking photos of her!!! Thank you for everything! Cheers, Karen and Craig TINKERBELLE![]() Dear Glendale Humane Society, attached you will find some pictures of our newest family member: Bella Bartok, who we rescued from your shelter a few months back. Here you’ll see her doing some of her favorite things: sniffing the air outdoors, napping and being read to! After a brief period of adjustment, (was that her jumping on the kitchen counter? is she playing too rough with the kids?) Bella has become the best dog we could’ve hoped for. She’s settled into a great routine of two long walks a day, and two brief ones in between, including a daily play session with the poodle next door. She’s loved by everyone who sees her, what with those looks! I have to say your recommendation for crate training has been key to our success…and I would recommend it to anyone who’s considering adopting a younger dog. We just absolutely adore her, and know she loves us too…almost as much as food. Thank you so much for everything! The Mendez Family DIGIT aka FRANKIE![]() Hi! I wanted to send you all some pictures of Frankie. He is a dream! He loves to get Molly and Woody to chase him. He also likes the kitties! He has gotten a little chunky (we all have) so, he is now on a diet. He very rarely has any problems with his knees anymore. I think the running is good for him!!!! Hope you are doing well! Elaine PAL![]() These are pictures taken of Buddy and Jade Gregorio in Sta. Barbara and at home.
