REESES

REESES

Hello everyone over there at Glendale Humane Society -

I know it has only been a few days but I just wanted to let you know that Reeses (whom I call Rudy) - has adapted incredibly well to my home and life. It took him only a day to catch on to housetraining. Those issues I had with him on a leash have disappeared. We just got back from an hour walk in the hills of my neighborhood. He is an active little guy but quite capable of sitting quietly at my feet as I work from home and as I write this. He is so affectionate and friendly with everyone. He is a huge hit with my neighbors and friends. He is all signed up for obedience classes in a couple of weeks but is already a great dog. I don’t know what I did without this little guy.

Thanks for all your help and advice. You do a wonderful job over there. I am really excited to start my life with my little pal.

BUTTERS & MO

BUTTERS & MO

Dear Star and Everyone at GHS,

Just a quick update on Butters and Mo…
We adopted Butters from GHS in 2005, and Mo just recently from GHS in May 2007. Despite Butters and Mo both being adult male cats when we adopted them, they have become the best of friends and have bonded completely! Butters gives Mo regular headbutt kisses, and Mo loves to give Butters lots of lick baths. They also enjoy running around the house playing, and getting up to general misschief. Mo knows how to open cupboards, and Butters follows him right inside!! But it’s so great to have them as part of our family!

We’d like to thank everyone at GHS for all the work you do, and our special thanks to Star for helping us find such a great match for Butters. We’ve had such great experiences adopting adult cats from GHS, Mo being 10 years old when we adopted him, and Butters being about 3. There’s alot of life left in these older cats, even at Mo’s age, and we highly recommend anyone adopting to consider an older cat.

Both Mo and Butters are incredibly sweet, and have settled in as though they have been part of our family forever.

All our love and best wishes!

INDIA

INDIA

I adopted “India” on March 3, 2007, and decided to name her Harpo, after the silent Marx brother, because Harpo can’t bark. Harpo quickly became the favorite dog in my office, and is such a head-turner on the street. Who would’ve thought that this abandoned, scruffy mutt could turn out to be such a muppet!

DUFFY

DUFFY

We adopted Duffy from Glendale Humane but I just wanted to let you know what joy this dog has brought to my husband and I! We just love him to pieces and he is the king of the house! Our children and both grown and gone from the house but my son comes home quite often………usually with a mountain of laundry! And wouldn’t you just know that my son is Duffy’s favorite person in the whole world, therefore his laundry pile is his favorite spot to roll in. Every time I see this picture I just have to laugh, and since today was another monumental laundry undertaking with my son (20 yrs old!) Duffy had a ball again today. Just had to share this picture! Thanks again for rescuing this wonderful dog that we now don’t know how we ever lived without!

Best Wishes, Ruth and Stephen Brock, Acton

FRECKLES

FRECKLES

Freckles joined us on Aug 13, 2007. The cats adopted him immediately, leaving the entire family and neighborhood confounded! Freckles is adjusting slowly, not liking the cats that traipse by frequently. He is attending Paul’s classes and progressing. We thank you for giving us our nutty-mutty.

MAUI

MAUI

Hi,
We adopted a cute little toy poodle from you in August of 2005 who went by the name Maui. He was at that time 5 months old, unsocialized and dumped by his owner at a local LA shelter, before being picked up by Glendale Society. This little boy, today named Misha has grown to be a great addition to our family and we love him soooo much. He is very empathetic, loyal, handsome man who listens well. He still has issues with men and launching at cars at times…but this is all getting better the older he gets. He loves kids! A year after we adopted Misha, we added a little bichpoo girl puppy to our pack, and these two have become inseparable. They are such a joy….once again, thank you for having Misha, aka Maui, at the right time. Here is a photo of these litttle two best friends….Nadya (left) and Misha (right), having a ball at the dog park. Check it out!
